Unrestricted, taxpayer funded abortion: 2020 Dems solidify anti-Life stance in first debate

Not a single candidate expressed support for a single restriction on abortion among the 20 Democratic presidential hopefuls who took the stage in last week’s debate.  Two stages of desperate politicians tripped over each other in a race to the far-left on who is the most pro-abortion.

In the first debate, former Congressman Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke (D-TX) was the first to mention abortion, unprompted, saying “Health care also has to mean that every woman can make her own decisions about her own body, and has access to the care that makes that possible.”  O’Rourke has consistently been one of the gravest threats to Life in Texas and the nation.

After more posturing from Governor Jay Inslee (D-WA) and Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), the moderator directly asked Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) “Would you put limits on abortion?”  Warren misleadingly claimed “most people support Roe v. Wade,” called the killing of a preborn child a “basic human right,” and demanded the evil 1973 decision be enshrined in federal law, barring states from protecting preborn children.  Only 6% of Americans believe abortion should be legal until birth, and only 8% believe abortion should be legal in the third trimester.

Former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Julian Castro took the anti-Life radicalism a step further, saying “I don’t believe only in reproductive freedom, I believe in reproductive justice.  What that means is just because a woman or, let’s also not forget, someone in the trans community — a trans female — is poor does not mean they should not have the ability to exercise that right to choose.”

Whatever “reproductive justice” means, Castro clearly stated that he would force Pro-Life Americans to directly fund others’ elective abortions – even abortions (somehow) among “trans females” who are biological males.

In the second night of the debate, Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT) declared abortion is “a constitutional right,” saying “Government and politicians should not infringe on that right.”  And of course, he insisted that government should pay for abortion through his signature plan, Medicare for All.

Senators Kamala Harris (D-CA) and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-(NY) also sounded off on abortion, and towed the same radical line — taxpayer funded abortion, up to the point of birth, with no restrictions by the national or state governments.

After months of campaigning and four hours of debates, not one of the 20 candidates for the Democratic nomination expressed support for a single limit on abortion.

These two debates showed that all the candidates on both stages are radically out of step with America’s Pro-Life majority, and are willing to not just defend the evils already enshrined in Roe v. Wade, but also to expand the culture of death so abortions are available on demand everywhere, for any reason, until birth, and fully funded by YOU.
