Texas Right to Life celebrates Peter Flores’ advancement to runoff

SAN ANTONIO – Texas Right to Life, the oldest and largest statewide Pro-Life organization in Texas, celebrated Peter Flores’ advancement to the runoff in the July 31 special election for state Senate District 19.

“Contrary to the narrative in the media, this election clearly shows that voters are fed up with the anti-Life policies of Democrats and are looking for positive change,” Elizabeth Graham, Director of Texas Right to Life, said.  “We are ecstatic about Peter Flores’ advancement to the runoff and look forward to a Pro-Life victory on Election Day.”

Texas Right to Life was the first organization to endorse Flores, behind whom Republicans and Pro-Life voters quickly rallied in an effort to gain Pro-Life representation in a district where Pro-Life values have been ignored for too long.  Flores’ opponent in the runoff election, Democrat Pete Gallego, has a terrible record on life.

During his tenure in the Texas House of Representatives and his one term in U.S. Congress, Gallego consistently opposed Pro-Life measures, voting countless times to keep taxpayer dollars flowing to abortion providers.  Worse, Gallego also voted in favor of late-term abortions by opposing the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which protected children in utero five months after fertilization.
