Experts set to testify on Texas Right to Life’s PreBorn Pain Bill

This week, experts will testify before the State Affairs Committee in the Texas House on the scientific evidence for the Texas PreBorn Pain Bill

We anticipate that abortion advocates will discredit the scientific consensus that preborn children are capable of feeling pain at 20 weeks post fertilization.  Medical experts will attest to the child’s physiological and neurological systems being fully formed and functioning at 20 weeks.  Therefore, children aborted at or after this point in pregnancy experience excruciating pain during an abortion, warranting a compelling state interest to protect these vulnerable lives.

One of the medical professionals who support the Texas PreBorn Pain Bill (House Bill 2364) is Representative Greg Bonnen, MD (R-Friendswood).  Dr. Bonnen is not swayed by the abortion lobby’s attack on the PreBorn Pain Bill and addresses the medical and scientific need for such a measure to protect these children.
