Texas Right to Life PAC Proudly Endorses Lt. Governor Dan Patrick
The Texas Right to Life Political Action Committee proudly endorses Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick for re-election. His unwavering commitment to protecting innocent human life was on full display during the 89th Texas Legislature, where he once again proved himself to be a strong and effective leader for the Pro-Life movement.
Throughout his time as both a Texas Senator and Lieutenant Governor, Dan Patrick has consistently championed laws that defend women, children, and the preborn. During the 89th Legislative Session, he elevated Pro-Life priorities by designating two major bills among his top legislative priorities: the Life of the Mother Act (SB 31) and the Stop Taxpayer-Funded Abortion Travel Act (SB 33). Under his leadership, both policies moved swiftly through the Senate and ultimately passed into law.
The Life of the Mother Act (SB 31 by Senator Bryan Hughes (R–Mineola)) ensures the Texas Medical Board provides free training to physicians on how to treat pregnant women in medical emergencies while fully complying with Texas’ Pro-Life laws. This law removes confusion created by misleading media narratives and strengthens protections for both mothers and their unborn children—without weakening Texas’ abortion laws.
The Stop Taxpayer-Funded Abortion Travel Act (SB 33 by Senator Donna Campbell, M.D. (R–New Braunfels)) prevents cities from using taxpayer dollars to fund abortion travel, directly stopping efforts by local governments such as Austin and San Antonio to subsidize abortion access. This law ensures Texans are not forced to bankroll the abortion industry.
Lieutenant Governor Patrick also played a major role in passing the Woman and Child Protection Act (WCPA), landmark legislation aimed at stopping dangerous mail-order abortion pills. Although the bill stalled during the regular session, he refused to back down. He joined Texas Right to Life and over 100 Pro-Life leaders in urging Governor Abbott to take action. As a result, the Woman and Child Protection Act was included in both special sessions, passed the Senate each time, and was ultimately signed into law as House Bill 7.
The Woman and Child Protection Act gives Texas powerful tools to combat illegal abortion pill trafficking, allows women harmed by abortion drugs to seek justice, and helps shut down out-of-state abortion profiteers targeting Texas women. With more than 19,000 abortion pills illegally shipped into Texas each year, this law represents a major victory for Life.
Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick’s leadership throughout the 89th Legislature demonstrates his unwavering commitment to protecting mothers, children, and the unborn. Texas needs proven, courageous Pro-Life champions—and Dan Patrick has once again shown he is up to the task.
