Pro-Life Victories from GOP Runoff Election

Pro-Life Republicans came away with exciting wins after Tuesday’s tiebreaker election.

Four of the six candidates endorsed by Texas Right to Life PAC won, advancing to the general election in November.

Tuesday’s election happened because in a handful of races across the state, no candidate received over 50% of the vote earlier this year. The top two Republicans then faced off in a second election to decide who will represent the party in November.

Here are some of our highlights from Tuesday’s runoff:

  • 🏆 Mayes Middleton won the GOP nomination in the most important Pro-Life race in Texas! ⭐ Middleton is running for attorney general, the state’s top lawyer. If elected, he will defend our Pro-Life laws in court and go after criminals who mail abortion pills here.
  • 🏆 Jon Bonck believes Washington, D.C., should do more to save babies from abortion. That’s why voters in Northwest Harris County (Congressional District 38) trust him to represent them in Congress. Bonck says, “My mission is simple: to honor God, defend our values, and fight for a future where faith, family, and freedom still have a place in this country.”
  • 🏆 Stan Stanart is one step closer to becoming the state rep. for the Spring area (House District 126). Stanart is 100% Pro-Life and will stand up for unborn babies instead of secretly helping abortion lobbyists.
  • 🏆 Orlando Sanchez won the GOP nomination for Harris County judge. Pro-Life leadership doesn’t just matter in Washington or Austin — it makes a difference locally. Sanchez will always fight for our values!

Pro-Life voters need to head to the polls again in November. The deadline to register to vote is October 5. Early voting runs October 19-30. Election Day is November 3.

Texas Right to Life celebrates these victories and looks forward to winning big in the November general election. Voters want lawmakers who courageously stand up against abortion, not sit on the sidelines.
