VICTORY: Pro-Life Mayes Middleton Wins GOP Nomination for Attorney General
Pro-Life Republican Mayes Middleton won Tuesday’s election to become the party’s nominee for Texas attorney general. This is one of the most important roles in the Texas government when it comes to upholding Pro-Life laws and stopping illegal abortions. Middleton will face Democrat Nathan Johnson in November.
The Texas attorney general is one of the most influential positions for the Pro-Life movement, not just in Texas but across the country. Texas has led the nation by passing and defending strong Pro-Life laws, but the state still needs someone to make sure the law is being followed. Without a bold attorney general, even the best-written protections could be worthless.
Middleton’s record from the Texas House and Senate proves his readiness for this task. He earned a 100% Pro-Life score every year in office and helped pass bills to protect preborn children, crack down on illegal abortion pills, block taxpayer-funded abortions, and save hospital patients from having their treatment taken away. Middleton’s experience shows he is able to carry our Pro-Life legal efforts forward and stop abortionists from killing Texas babies, even if the activists are in other states.
After vetting all Republican candidates for the primary, Texas Right to Life PAC was proud to endorse Mayes Middleton.
Texas Right to Life President Dr. John Seago stated:
“Mayes Middleton has the courage and consistent leadership the Pro-Life movement demands. As attorney general, he will be a faithful defender of our laws and a leader at the forefront of our ongoing campaign to protect the Right to Life of all Americans.”
Over the last few years, criminals have illegally shipped roughly 19,000 abortion pills into Texas annually. The attorney general is responsible for holding lawbreakers accountable by suing activists who are inventing new ways to kill Texas babies.
The attorney general race will now move to the November election, where the future of Texas law enforcement will be determined. Pro-Life voters will have the opportunity to choose Mayes Middleton to lead, defend, and deliver on the state’s commitment to protect Life.
